Where Stories Sing and Laugh

Act.Too is a Southwest Middlesex, Ontario-based non-profit community theatre group dedicated to fostering social connection, youth skill development, and local philanthropy. Operating under the motto "More than theatre. A place to belong," the organization links artistic performance with community support by donating proceeds to local causes, including the SWM Animal Shelter.

The Power of the Stage: Serving the Greater Community Good

At Act.Too, we believe the stage is a tool for community building:

Mental Health and Belonging:

For many of our members, the theatre is a safe space outside of work or school. It provides a vital sense of belonging, reduces social isolation, and offers a creative outlet that supports mental well‐being for youth and adults alike.

Skill Development for Local Youth:

Our productions teach more than just acting. Local youth gain hands‐on experience in technical engineering (lighting/sound), carpentry (set building), time management, and public speaking—skills that translate directly into the workforce. Partnering with the Glencoe District High School and working with the technology groups, we are providing hands-on experience for local students and providing volunteer hours towards graduation.

Economic Vitality for all SWM:

We partner with local organizations and businesses to provide co-branding opportunities and exposure. This social consciousness and cooperation can help with tourism, bringing people into our downtown core. When families travel to Southwest Middlesex for a show, they shop at our local stores and dine at our local restaurants, keeping our small‐town economy vibrant.

Bridging Generations:

Theatre is one of the few places where a 7‐year‐old and a 97‐ year‐old work side‐by‐side as equals. This intergenerational mentorship strengthens the social fabric of our town and ensures local history and stories are passed down.

Creating a Legacy of Giving:

We are turning art into tangible help. Your sponsorship directly enables us to donate ticket proceeds to local essentials, ensuring their success is for the community.
